This section is dedicated to the many lessons I have learned in the creation of this grand musical endevor. I will try to post thoughts, feelings, and words of wisdom as I feel inspired.
Important Lesson # 1: Just because you have the power to do something in this particular moment doesn't necessarily mean that you SHOULD use that power at this particular moment
-----I had to learn this the hard way, both with music production, and with people. With regards to music, just because I have the power to apply a super computer-intensive reverb doesn't mean that I should--I ruined quite a few good takes by overprocessing them. The same can be said of some friendships over the past few years. I believe I might have overprocessed them as well. Life is a continual learning process, and though I might not have done things perfectly with regards to music, friends, and family in the past, I realize that I have a chance to go forward and learn from my mistakes.
Important Lesson # 2: Do not ever force yourself to feel, do, or say things. If it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't.
-----Once again, the lessons I've had to learn in this area apply to both music and relationships with people. When it comes to writing and playing music, you can't FORCE yourself to feel or play a certain way. If you don't play what you feel, and you try forcing a feeling, the end result will be horrible. I can really tell a difference when I've tried forcing myself to write something, and when I've written something because I FELT like writing it at a particular time.
With regards to people, well...The same reasoning definitely applies. If the time is not right for you to say or do something, then you should not force yourself to do so. The end result can be pretty tragic when it comes to relationships. One should never take them for granted, and risk losing them just because you WANT to say something immediately.
